Authentic Nasi Goreng Recipe: Indonesian Fried Rice with Chicken & Kani

Heat your wok/pan w/ oil

Add in your chilli and minced garlic

Saute until fragrant

Add your minced onions, saute until soft

Add in your chicken

Add 1 tbsp of sweet soy sauce

Add the rice
-
Add another 1 tbsp of sweet soy sauce and the shrimp paste

Mix until the soy sauce covers the rice

Add the Kani
-
Add the MSG & dark soy sauce

Mix until combined

Add salt to taste and let it cook for another 5 mins to create a bit of smoky flavour in the rice

Set the rice aside and fry a sunny-side-up egg

Slide your tomatoes & cucumbers

Assemble everything on your plate, rice, tomatoes & cucumber, egg

Sprinkle some of the fried garlic & top it off with red chilli
