Easy Japchae Recipe (Korean Food)

Recipe

JAPCHAE INGREDIENTS:

  • Sliced chicken/ Or any meat of your choice

  • Sweet potato noodles (japchae noodles, can be bought at your nearest Asian mart)

  • capsicum

  • onions

  • carrots

  • eggs

  • green onions

  • mushrooms

  • sugar

  • soy sauce

  • sesame oil

  • sesame seeds

MEAT MARINADE INGREDIENTS (COMPLEX):

  • 6 Tbsp soy sauce (I use regular Kikkoman soy sauce)

  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 Tbsp rice wine (mirin)

  • 1 asian pear or red apple

  • 1/2 onion

  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic

  • 1 tsp minced ginger

  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper

MEAT MARINADE INGREDIENTS (SIMPLE - which is the one I use):

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1/8 black pepper

HOW TO COOK:

1. Soak the noodles in cold water while we're cutting the veggies

2. Cut all veggies into strips

3. Scramble the egg in a bowl and cook it in a pan ( you can scramble or cook it flat)

4. If you cooked the egg flat, roll it and slice it into strips

5. Cook noodles as instructed by packet

6. Cook all veggies until cooked & cook the meat as well

7. Put the noodles in a big bowl where we could mix everything

8. Add in all the cooked veggies

9. Add the cooked meat

10. Add sesame oil, sugar, soy sauce and pepper

11. Mix until everything is combined
