Easy Nepali Dish: Saag Recipe

Recipe

SAAG INGREDIENTS:

  • Local spinach (Can be any greens of your choice)

  • Salt

  • Garlic

  • Cumin Seeds

  • Mustard Seeds

  • Oil

  • Salt

  • Fried Garlic (optional)

HOW TO COOK SAAG:

1. Wash and prep your greens

2. Dice 1 bulb of garlic

3. Heat the pan with oil

4. Add your cumin seeds (make sure your pan is hot enough otherwise the cumin seeds won't bloom)

5. Add mustard seeds next

6. Mix and add your diced garlic

7. Sautee until garlic changes colour

8. Add the greens

9. Let it steam for 2-5 minutes

10. Keep adding the remaining greens and let it steam

11. Cover for 2-5 minutes & season with salt as needed

12. Sautee and let the water evaporate until your desired hydration, add the fried garlic

13. And you're done!

14. Great for sides on your meals
