Tossed in sesame oil, soy sauce, and a hint of sweetness, this Japchae is balanced, flavourful, and perfect as a main dish or side. It’s a wholesome, veggie‑packed meal that’s satisfying without feeling heavy.

Instructions

  1. Soak the noodles in cold water while you prep the vegetables.
  2. Cut all the veggies into thin strips.
  3. Scramble the egg in a bowl and cook it in a pan — you can scramble it or cook it flat.
  4. If cooked flat, roll the egg and slice it into strips.
  5. Cook the noodles according to the packet instructions.
  6. Cook all the vegetables until tender, and cook the meat as well.
  7. Place the cooked noodles in a large bowl for mixing.
  8. Add all the cooked vegetables.
  9. Add the cooked meat.
  10. Add the sesame oil, sugar, soy sauce, and pepper.
  11. Mix everything together until well combined.
  12. Add sesame seeds and serve.
